National HRCA Mini Ride Days Hit The Spot With Kids

The Honda Riders Club of Australia (HRCA) hosted two more successful mini bike ride days for kids and their families this past month in Woodford, QLD and Dargle Farm, NSW.

Around 350 boys and girls of all ages enjoyed the opportunity to get out and ride in a non-competition environment under the supervision of Honda Australia Rider Training (HART) trained marshals and HRCA staff.

At Dargle Farm, youngsters were also joined by racing stars Rebecca Lipsett (No Fear Honda) and Bryan Staring (Jardine Honda) who helped out with coaching and ‘motivational’ duties.

According to HRCA Manager, the days are exceeding everyone’s expectations. “It was very cold at Dargle but that did not keep the kids or their parents away,” he said.

“In Queensland, the conditions were extremely dusty, and again the groups absolutely loved it. Nothing dampens their enthusiasm when it comes to riding their mini bikes"
According to Staring, who is a keen off road rider in addition to competing in the Supersport class of the Australian Superbike Championships on board a Honda CBR600RR, many of the children show the kind of determination needed to become professional racers later in life.

“It’s great to see so many of these kids starting early and doing what is necessary to get better at their craft without the pressure of competition. Riding off road is a great way to learn how to become a good road racer, or even just a better rider on the road in the future so it’s all good.”

Kids who want to find out more about mini bike riding in general can also become a member of Honda’s Red Riders Club free of charge.

The Club’s website provides all kinds of information on how to ride safely, plus monthly competitions, a rider’s photo gallery, racing news, and much more. Check it out at: www.redriders.com.au

Owners of any type of motorcycle 150cc and below are welcome to participate in the HRCA ride days. For more information on scheduled events, go to: www.hrca.com.au
